If I lived in Dallas, I'd probably be here once a week. It is a great place, and will be on my must do list whenever I'm in town! You just have to fold it! Here's how: Lay the towel in front of you where the longer edge is closest to you, so that as you look down at it, it's wider than it is tall..
As you look at the towel, imagine horizontal lines dividing the towel into thirds. You are going start by folding the top edge of the towel down to where the top third overlaps the middle third. Then fold the bottom third up to overlap the other two thirds. Then you will basically have a long tube of fabric. Lastly, you simply roll up the ends of the tube like you were rolling up the sleeves of a shirt, or the cuffs of a pair of pants.
I roll it up about 3 times. Make sure the rolls are tight so they'll stay. That's all there is to it! Find the edges of the towel in the unrolled middle portion, and you can put it on your head, with the round rolls above your ears! Now you are rockin' it Korean Spa Style! Angiebell The Colony, TX 2 contributions. I took my husband here yesterday for Father's Day and our daughter and son-in-law for their anniversary. We were all having a good time until it got a little later in the evening.
We were in enjoying spa pool until it became spa hedonism. I saw 2 separate couples blatantly having sex in the spa water. One of the girls got out of the pool after the incident and her swim bottoms on inside out. Then she and the guy both got out of the pool and directly into the hot tub Gross! Now I wonder how often this happen. I know one of the employers saw what happened and she came and took a water sample.
I did tell one of the employees that was standing at the side of the pool and she acted shocked at what I was telling her and she did not report it. We went here to relax, not to be disgusted by the unsanitary pool conditions. Save your money!
Do Not Go! I was going to give an over all 3 of 5, but my first body scrub was so good and the food was really good too The place over all is kind of fun. It is a spa with several dry co-ed saunas. There is a "wet" area for same sex I assume the women's is like the men's area.
It reminded me of a Japanese Onsen. Several hot tubs of different temps, dry sauna, steam room, and several showers, and a "scrub area". If you have have never had a body scrub before, this was great. They are not shy. Oddly, in this spa they therapist are male, in Japan they are female. Place was fun.. Sweetdeesignz Fort Worth, TX 80 contributions. Just thinking about this place makes me mad. Ok trust me when i say your speaking to a spa connoisseur that this is NOT a relaxing place.
I will begin saying that i am aware it is a Korean spa and i am very very familiar with Korean Customs. But this place is horrible. Its pricey, the food sucks, its expensive and for more conservative women like myself i should not HAVE to get butt naked to enjoy the women's bath. The lady at the front desk accepted it without any trouble.
It was a weekend so she said she'd give us water park lockers because the spa lockers were "a little tight today". She gave us a general explanation of how the place works and told us we could get more information at the next desk. She wasn't rude in any way. The security inspected our bags before letting us inside to the lobby.
At the next desk we got our uniforms. You could also schedule a massage there. I wanted to schedule a body scrub, but the man said I had to do that inside the locker room. However, I've been to a Korean spa before in Seoul and I know you have to be naked for this particular service. Our locker was in the water park which is separate from the spa. So I asked him how I was supposed to do this. He said I would probably need to switch my locker.
The man at the front desk switched it without complaint. Went inside the spa locker room and scheduled my scrub. The lady was also not rude. I really don't understand why so many people think they have bad service. There didn't seem to be that many lockers. And they are all very close together. So I understand the front desk lady's comment. There is a bathroom, hair dryers, brushes, combs, and a water fountain with cups that's free.
You have to take your shoes off before you enter here. I was confused because I couldn't find the shoe lockers. They don't have then in the women's locker. They DO have them in the men's. In the women's, your big locker has a shelf at the bottom for your shoes. Now here's the sensitive subject everyone here seems to be so worried about: You must be naked to use the spa. So what? Who cares? Nobody cares about your naked body.
You're separated by gender. Just do it and experience a Korean spa the way you are supposed to. Everyone has their own body issues, and nobody cares except you. Now that we're over ourselves, let's move on. Take a shower. They have standing ones and sitting ones. I prefer the sitting ones because this is supposed to be relaxing haha. You have to shower before getting into the spas. Things I didn't like about the spa pools: they weren't labeled, there weren't that many, and the temperature displays were broken.
In Korea, all the pools were labeled so you knew what they were and the benefits. There was one pool here that looked like it had a giant tea bag in it. So maybe it was green tea.
The other ones just felt like different temperatures. It came with a full body scrub, a full body massage, a facial, a shampoo, and a free admission to king spa for the next visit. The scrub was comparable to the one I got in Korea, most likely due to the ladies being Korean. They'll scrub your skin off leaving you so smooth. The massage was to die for. Loved it. The shampoo made my hair super soft and she massaged my head during it oh my gosh, YES.
Change into your uniform to go to the dry area or your swim suit to do the water park. I scheduled a manicure at the nail salon.
The ladies were, again, very nice. The only problem I had was that didn't do simple design even though they have it displayed on their advertisements. Oh well. The sauna rooms were okay. I don't really like sweating so I can't give a solid review on this.
The one we went to in Korea was better though. These rooms all seemed a bit small and it was very busy on Saturday. The oxygen room was definitely my favorite though. Fell asleep for an hour there until some obnoxious girls came in and laughed loudly before leaving again. Food was good. Portions were big. Water was free. The place was clean. We didn't have time to do any of the water park and we were there from 3 pm to 8 am. They have lots of recliners to sleep in or you can sleep almost anywhere else.
Everything extra you want to get can be charged to your key which you pay before you leave. So you don't have to carry money with you.
What to bring: -extra clothes: even if you don't plan to stay You'll need big ones for the water park. I actually used mine as a blanket because they don't allow you to bring those -water bottle: refill it at the free water things. Stay hydrated! Don't confuse it with your American expectations. Think of it as a cultural experience and experience it. Another thing I didn't like: people were generally loud. In Korea, no one was loud. They talked with each other softly.
Here people were screaming and laughing loudly. Not relaxing. There was one time in the spa that two girls were being loud by the cold pool. A Korean lady at the massage tables came out and told them to be quiet. Is that rude? Rules, people, not bad service. Anyways, I hope this was helpful. Please enjoy the place to the fullest. It's open 24hrs. Don't be so afraid to be naked with other people of your gender who have your same parts and similar body concerns.
My friends are I have visited this place numerous times. Today we came to use our pre-bought tickets we purchased on their website back in March. Knowing that today is Memorial Day, a holiday, we called last night to make sure we could still use them. The guy who I talked to said that we could use them, so we drove 30min and planned our day accordingly.
However, when we showed the Korean guy at the front counter the tickets, he said that he couldn't scan the barcodes since we can only use the tickets Mon-Thurs but not on holidays. He claimed that the fine print says, "no holidays", but it certainly does not and the tickets themselves don't say anything concerning holidays.
We even asked to talk to the manager, James, but were told that he is off today so that didn't get us anywhere. With no other choice, we left, very frustrated. We used to be loyal customers, now we are pissed off customers who will never come again simple because of their terrible customer service Very laid back, S-L-O-W day.
Go here when you are NOT in any hurry to do anything but enjoy skin and body sensations. I'd read extensively about this spa before going on a whim with my 15 yr old daughter. With a bit of arthritis in my knees, it was a struggle to lay on floors and especially get up from them in the different saunas, and it would have been nice if someone told us what was expected in the wet areas like why there were such different kinds of showers , but after we kinda fumbled around a bit and figured things out, we were fine.
Large "standard" shower heads on wall are for initial cleaning up before going into any we area -- they are adamant with signs that guests are cleanly showered before entering any hot tubs -- adn the walls of short showers CAN be used the same way, but also for simply enjoying while sitting on plastic chairs. At the end of only 10 hours, my daughter and I felt totally wrung out -- in a good way.
We went in March, and bought a pass summer deal, so I can't wait to go when there's more people; I've read the weekends are full with kiddoes and families. Roger H Dallas, TX 61 contributions.
This was my first visit to King Spa and I'd never been to a spa before, so this review will be unbiased. I visited late night, and several custodians and staff were cleaning in different areas. I'm always a bit wary of germs, but I didn't mind walking barefoot on the floors, sitting in the chairs, lying on the mats, or climbing in any pool. After checking-in and removing my shoes, I received a uniform and a wristband.
The wristband has a locker key embedded and a barcode for any purchases made during a person's visit. No outside food or drink may be brought in, but this place has a small food court. I didn't eat anything, but my friend tried the egg rolls and said they were delicious. Small towels are provided for the shower area, but they are about the size of a kitchen tea towel. TIP: If you feel uncomfortable being naked with strangers, this may not be the place for you. I was going to give an over all 3 of 5, but my first body scrub was so good and the food was really good too The place over all is kind of fun.
